High Five

High Five - They Might be Giants

At the end of each day I try to have the kids  name five amazing and awesome things of the day.  Here is the list from today:

5.  Extra recess - We earned this as a result of being on task during Literacy Workshop.

4.  Art - We worked on a puzzle project.

3.  Math - We did four pages of math today...phew!

1.  We went to the media center and Ms. Zbacnik read Otis and the Tornado.  We also checked out books.

What's in a name?

If you ask the average second grader, "What did you do at school today?" they will almost always say something about their favorite activities, lunch and recess.  While these are very important activities in the life of a 7 or 8 year old, believe me it is far from all that happens in a day.  In this blog I hope to share with you some of the other activities we do as a class, in small groups and individuals.  I will include academic activities as well as some fun things we do in room 109.
