Learning BINGO!

What a fun time we had this morning playing All School Learning BINGO!

We played with our buddies in their classroom.  The whole school plays together over the loud speaker.  We played four rounds, each with a mystery caller.  See if your child can tell you who they were.

We sure do like our buddies!  They are very kind to us and are always excited to see us.

Have a wonderful break!

Today we...

Today we were very busy with these things:

Learning Bingo!  Tomorrow we will play All School Learning Bingo!  We made our boards today.    Some kids made two boards - one for him/herself and another for kids who were absent today.

Then if was on to our Thankful Turkeys!  There were a lot of work, but turned out so cute!  Yesterday we wrote things we are thankful for at home, in school, outside and special talents.  We illustrated one of each thing.  Today, we assembled our books, added a title page and made the feathers and  a face.  Everyone did a great job and worked hard.  There were a lot of helpers too who made sure everyone got their job done.

Balloons Over Broadway

Today we started a new writing project!  It is based on the book Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy's Parade.  It is such a rich book with lots of information about the man who created the balloons for the early parades.

We cerated our own balloons for the parade!  We talked about how the balloon should be a character that most people would recognize, especially kids.

Tomorrow we will write a letter to Macy's asking them to include our balloons in the parade.  We will have to think of good reasons for them to be included.

We also worked on our I Am Thankful books!  More on those another day!

5th grade Buddy Time

On Thursday afternoon we got together with our buddies.  This time we split up and some of the kids stayed with Ms. Hudella in her room and some of the kids came back to our room.  Here is a glimpse of what the  kids did together.  There was lots of conversation and creativity!

Maker Space Stations!

Today in Library we had the chance to explore Maker Space Stations with Ms. Z.

Ask your child about what he/she did.  Ask who he/she worked with and how it went working together.  Ms. Z encouraged them to work together as much as possible.
