Last week we had the students write a paragraph about something they felt that they accomplished or made great growth in this year. We worked on language they could use and structure for explaining how they accomplished their goal. They drew a selfie to go along with their writing.
This week we recorded each student reading his/her letter and attached his/her selfie.
They turned out very well! This is surely something to treasure! Enjoy!
Today we looked through our special memory book! This book is full of pictures, a letter from Mrs. Anderson, lists of our favorite memories and books and a paragraph about each month of school! It is just for our class! Everyone got one and we will sign them tomorrow!
It was lots of fun to look through them and remember all of the good things we did this year!
Last week and this week we have been listening to and reading Ramona Quimby, Age 8 by Beverly Cleary.
This has been a special experience because we have been listening to it on tape! We each have a copy of the book and we follow along as we listen. It is so much fun!
We are also taking notes about each chapter as we read.
This afternoon we shared all of our hard work with our families. We gathered all of our writing and a few other projects into a folder to read and discuss. We talked about what was our purpose in writing each piece, what specific language was used for each piece and what genre is the piece.
As Mrs. Erickson and I watched families interact it was very exciting for us to watch each student explain his/her piece and read it to his/her parent(s). The students were so proud of the work! Everyone was very engaged and seemed to enjoy the time together!
