Wow! We have not done a post in such a long time! We have a lot to tell you!
We have been studying Egypt. We have learned the Nile river runs from south to north, kids go to school for fewer years than we do and many people eat many small meals in a day.
Today was Hat Day! We got to wear our favorite hat to school!
We have started new Guided Reading groups. Many of us love our new groups!
We had an assembly on Monday. The St. Anthony Brass Quintet performed for us. A brass quintet is five people playing a brass instrument together. J. knew a member of the quintet.
We have been doing an author study on Mo Willems. We think his illustrations are beautiful. They are also humorous and funny. We are going to draw a picture with one of the characters. Today, we watched Knuffle Bunny on bookflix.
We have also learned about Martin Luther King Junior.
In math we have learned about multiplication, division and median. We also practiced using a ruler and measuring in centimeters and inches.
We have learned about the Caldecott Medal with Ms. Zbacnik. The Caldecot medal is given out for the best illustrations in a picture book. The winner for 2012 was A Ball for Daisy.
