Bookawocky and Bubble Gum

Today was a big day for us!

This morning we learned about the Bookawocky Summer Reading Program through the Ramsey County Library System.  A Librarian from the Roseville Library came to talk with all of the second graders.

The Bookawocky program is simple.  First, you need to get a bunch of books together you want to read.  Then, go to the Roseville library and get a Bookawocky Reading packet.  As you complete a book, complete a page in the packet.  You can either write or draw about your book.  Some kids even do both!  Then, when you have read four books, return the completed for to the library.  You will receive four special prizes.  See if your child can tell you about the prizes.

Listening and learning about Bookawocky!

She read a new version of the Three Little Pigs!

Look for these things in the Wednesday folders!
All throughout the day we were working on earning the letters to spell the words Bubble Gum by showing Bengal Pride and doing our best.  After working very hard, we earned our reward!  We got to chew bubble gum in school for an entire hour!  First we had to read about Bubble Gum.

Learning about Bubble Gum!

We earned time to chew bubble gum!
This afternoon, we chewed as we drew a picture of what kind of bubble we would blow and then wrote about it!  What Fun!
