Week in Review

We have been learning so much in the last week!  On top of all the learning, we also prepared for our Second Grade Concert!

Here is a quick review:

Last week, we worked on learning about homophones.  We made a "pair of pears" to illustrate two homophones.

All this week we worked on a special art project with Mr. Nelson.  He taught us about the three  main types of trees in Minnesota and then we painted one kind - the birch tree.  It was a multistep process that took a few days.  Ask your child about the process.  The finished products will be on display at the Festival!

Yesterday we performed our first concert for the entire school and our parents.  It was a busy week preparing and learning our places in the gym and on the risers.

We loved performing!  It was so much fun to sing and play instruments.  Some of us had special jobs like announcing songs or doing sign language.

At the night concert everyone was so dressed up.  We all looked beautiful!

On Friday we participated in the All School Clean Up!  Our job was to sort lost and found items and make the multipurpose room more beautiful.  We got to work with our buddies.  At the end of our time we enjoyed a snack.
