The First Few Days!

Whew!  It has been a busy first few days of Second grade!  Here is a quick review of what we have done:

We have been learning important rules and practices that will help keep our classroom and school a safe and fun place to learn.  We have talked about what the lunchroom and playground should look like, sound like and how you should feel in those spaces.

We have learned and practiced:
  • Give me 5!
  • Clap pattern
  • Class, Yes
  • Hands and Eyes
See if your child can tell you about these and why and when we use them.

We have read many fun books including:
  • First Day Jitters
  • Chrysanthemum
  • Mean Jean
  • Enemy Pie
  • The Rainbow Fish
  • Manners Mash Up
  • The Rhyming Dust Bunnies
  • Harry the Dirty Dog
We also played a few games, even a fun game today in Math that was familiar from First grade.

Today we spent time making our All About Me Puzzles that are in the hall.  The puzzle shows important information about us.  We spent a lot of time working on these and they look like good Second grade work.  We also finished our Friendship Pie and drawing about what makes a good friend.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  The homework is to play outside and read!
